In the Maldives the search is a speedboat, a resort transfer, or a dhoni replacement. In Seychelles and Mauritius it is a guest transfer boat or a yacht tender. The buyer is the resort, the villa, or the captain. Not the guest.

An EdgeWater from 25 feet is the lagoon boat: unsinkable, and simple to run between jetty and atoll. A Scout 315 or 425 is the longer run, Male to the resort or Mahé to the outer island. A World Cat is the short, sharp lagoon, where a monohull pounds.

Seychelles and Mauritius results are full of Lagoon and Leopard charter boats. These are power cats. Twin hull, outboards, no rig. The guest transfer that still fishes.

Which island, which hull.

Maldives. A resort speedboat or a villa tender: EdgeWater 250 or Scout 315. A private fishing boat for the atoll: Scout 425.

Seychelles. Mahé and Praslin sport fishing: Contender 44ST. Eden Island tender: Scout 530.

Mauritius. Black River and Grand Baie, pêche au gros: the same Contender, or a World Cat 400 if the brief is family and fish.
